ON 24's Season 7 8:00pm-9:00pm, Bill Buchanan made the ultimate sacrifice. President Allison could not take much even more the sight of General Juma with a knife on her daughter Olivia. So she ordered Jack Bauer to open the door of the lockdown room. But Bauer has a plan to save the President. He opened CH-4 from the room just before they surrendered to Juma. Just as the room is filled up with gas from CH-4 an ignition is all they need to trigger it. Jack told Bill Buchanan about the plan. Bill tells Jack that Juma's not working alone. He overheard Juma talking on a SAT phone coordinating with somebody on the outside. He tells Jack to find out who it is because he is the only one that could do it and then dives for the lockdown door. He manages to get off the shot, triggering the CH-4 explosion. Jack surprised by Bill Buchanan's sacrifice and shouts for rejection on what happened. During the explosion Aaron Pierce manages to spirit the President and Olivia away to safety. Juma's men are cut down, and after a tense standoff, Jack manages to kill Juma as well. Jack runs back to the lockdown room, only to find the body of Bill Buchanan, who was killed in the explosion.
Bill was right it isn't over yet. Jack, now more determined and holds his word to Bill that he is going to get to the bottom of the conspiracy. He returns to Burnett for questioning. Quinn enters into the scene and framed Jack for killing Burnett. Jack had an ID for Quinn with the help of FBI Agent Renee Walker and tracef him back for serving to Starkwood with aid of Senator Meyer. Jack had now, established a connection of Starkwood to General Juma. The pursuit for the truth continues.
