The Way Back Movie 2011 - Colin Farrell

The Way Back Movie finally released its movie trailer and we get to have a peek of what Way Back is all about. This is based on fact story set in 1940 Poland occupied by the Soviet Union during World War 2. From a group of POW, rises a person brave enough to leave the deadly Siberian Gulag. A military officer who was captured, planned an escape route to India along with six co prisoners. The journey would not be easy as they need to cross and endure harsh and deadly terrains and creatures. From the deadly heat of the dessert and sand dunes to the icy mountains of the Himalayas, it is the tough determination for survival that fuels them to move forward.

The film stars Colin Farrell, Saoirse Ronan, Jim Sturgess, Ed Harris. The movie director is Peter Weir. From watching the trailer, this movie is sure to be a great one!

What is Gulag? Here is an information from wikipedia what Gulag is all about.

The Gulag was the government agency that administered the main Soviet penal labour camp systems. While the camps housed a wide range of convicts, from petty criminals to political prisoners, with large numbers convicted by simplified procedures, such as NKVD troikas and other instruments of extrajudicial punishment, the Gulag is recognized as a major instrument of political repression in the Soviet Union.
GULag is the acronym for Chief Administration of Corrective Labour Camps and Colonies USSR, then any such penal system.
